Marysia and Julian (PL)
Icarian Acrobatic Teachers
Marysia Gawlik & Julian Wash. We define our work as icarian acrobatics. We have been intensively cooperating for 2 years, during which we developed our skills by training ourselves, as well as participating in various types of circus and acroyoga festivals. We are lovers of dynamic elements that require a lot of cooperation and trust in pair. Our shows are a combination of icarian games, acroyoga washing machines and partner acrobatics.
In 2019 we’ve participated in Poland’s Got Talent which motivated us to create three new shows and let us won the program.
So far, we have had the opportunity to share our knowledge in several workshops in Poland, including Krakow, Warsaw, Ostróda, Wroclaw and AcroFever Retreat organized in Burdąg.
Besides their duo, Marysia is an aerialist and instructor of aerial acrobatics for children and adults for 4 years. Julian is a circus artist, he is doing a german wheel and juggling act.
Jarno and Anouk (BE)
He mainly teaches at ‘Circusplaneet’ in Gent, and in 2018/19 he also taught at Ell Circo D’ell Fuego. In a life before all the acrobatics, Jarno owned a boxing school. So, now you know where these muscly arms came from 😉
Anouk is a Belgian flyer. She has explored different sport activities (gymnastics, tennis, dance, horse driving,…). Her first acroyoga classes were a revelation. From that day on, she would focus on that discipline. Feeling alone in her previous activities, she got hooked by the cooperation involved in acro. Thanks to verbal and corporal communication, washing machines are performed with confidence. With F2H and H2H, movement gives space for balance. Still a subtile communication plays its role.
She likes to share her vision of acro while teaching and partying every victory with her learners. Gratitude to Jarno, Veronica and Paulo, her coteachers.
Bencho & Mira (IL)
Mira and Bencho have been teaching Acro for the last 7 years. Bencho has been practicing it for over a decade! He is Based in Israel, but Acro-travels often. Mira, an Israeli based in France, has a dominant part in the Israeli Acro events, organizing & teaching team. They both have been teaching in conventions, retreats & workshops around the world, but also weekly classes and privates. They are extremely excited to pass on their knowledge. Mira has been a gymnast for 30 years now! Gym teacher, Circus teacher, Thai massage Therapist & Acrobatics teacher she is very resourceful and creative. And Bencho much like superman wears a Tie when he’s not flying people in the air.
Mira & Bencho met 3 years ago in the amazing Israeli Jams and have been teaching and flying together, on every occasion they had. It is important to them, that their classes hold a professional and safe space, but at the same time are filled with joy and laughter. both Mira and Bencho love to change rolls (with similar size flyer/base to their own) and therefor have a deeper understanding of each other’s roll. They are Pro’s of Icarian Games but also love Standing Acro, H2H’s & 3-4 people’s Machines.
In their classes all skills are broken down into small digestible steps to accommodate fast and safe learning. A constant emphasis on positive communication, techniques and on beeing secure emotionally and physically, makes their classes stand out, brining the learning experience to a higher level, literally. 🙂
Amir and Yska (IL)
Amir and Yska, both graduated from different circus schools. They acquired most of the abilities and knowledge from practicing independently, mostly by attending workshops or jams and through exploring theirs bodies and learning to flow together.
As long as our connection is getting deeper, we find new ways to explore more moves without words, and we discover methods how to put less effort and get better results.
Acro for us is much more than just a physical practice. It is also a great opportunity to meet new amazing people. From time to time it happens that the people we practice with, become a big part of our lives. On the other side, acro is also a space where we can deal with our fears, insecurities, and self judgement. When we connect with our bodies for a practice it’s almost impossible to hide our feelings, therefore we have no other option but to stay sincere with each other.
Our approach for practice itself is to try to use our bodies’ natural gifts. We believe this what makes the practice more authentic and fluent. Each of us has a one unique body of his, with special features and very different needs. We want to listen to those needs and work with them.
We are inspired by various methods of bodywork and movement such as Acrodance, Ido Portal Method and classic acrobatics. We like to combine it to our practice, to make it more holistic to the body and soul.

Natalia & Joshua (PL)
Natalia & Joshua met on the 28th of January 2016, it was love at first acro. Ever since they have cultivated an acro practice that focuses on: in depth technical analysis and understanding of the acro system, mindful and controlled movement with emphasis on smooth execution and impeccable technique. What does all this mean? It means they make acro feel good, and they believe it is an exercise in effortlessness
Nenad & Jelena (RS)
You know the feeling when you love something so much you want to share it with the entire world, well that was our biggest motivation to learn not only how to do acro but also teach it and explain it in a way that is comprehensible to everyone while being fun. We wanted everyone who comes to learn from us to leave with a positive mind set and a feeling of victory for that day. Our goal is not only to teach our students but also for them to develop a desire to be better and advance in their knowledge and skill.
As we are both quite active people, way back when we met in 2016, we started exploring the world of standing and L-based acrobatics. With previous experience in rather different sports (basketball, figure skating, ballet and latin dance) it was no easy transition, but that was what made it fun and made us learn all the ways you could fail before succeeding. After developing our practice we started holding workshops and as interest grew we formed NS Acrobalance with regular classes held weekly and a community growing around it. Since then we held workshops in our region (Serbia, Croatia, Greece) and performed in different venues and festivals (Exit Festival, Piano City, Cirko Balkana) and even landed interviews on local TV shows.
Our goal is to develop a sense of freedom, playing with different shapes and connecting them to music while transitioning from L-basing to standing tricks and back. In other words, to have fun

Jos & Sam (NL)
In 2017 I started acroyoga. In the beginning it was a challenge, but after a while I started looking forward to the classes and I realized that it brought me much more than just a physical challenge. After a few years of doing acroyoga I did the Acroyoga Teacher Training in September 2019. Now I teach workshops and weekly classes and I am so happy and feel privileged that I can do that.
I love it, that when I am doing and teaching acroyoga, I feel my inner child growing and I can’t think about other things like work or ‘to do’ lists. It helps me to come back in the here and now.
I wish everyone the same feeling that I got through acroyoga in their own journey of life and I love to spread this through acroyoga with you!
