Jacob & Debbie (USA)

Jacob & Debbie (USA)

AcroYoga / Acrobatic Teachers

Jacob Brown
From an early age Jacob was attracted to all kinds of physical pursuits be this climbing trees, cycling all over the neighborhood, or jumping on a trampoline.  His parents had the good sense to put him in gymnastics to give him an outlet for his boundless energy.  Jacob spent most of his twenties either doing or teaching gymnastics.  Later a friend introduced him to partner acrobatics and Jacob immediately fell head over heels for this new type of movement..  Over the years his relationship with acro changed from playing with friends in parks to going to festivals to teaching all over the world.  His other hobbies are video editing, making kombucha, and cycling.

Debbie Collis also grew up on the west coast and started her movement training through a homeschool gymnastics program.  She was later introduced to acro by Jacob.  She liked how acro was similar to gymnastics but also more creative, more free form, and most importantly, more fun.  It was not long before she fell entirely into the grip of acro which is the world’s most wholesome addiction.  Debbie’s long legs and confident movement style make her a beautiful flyer.  Her keen eye for points of form make her an excellent teacher.  In her spare time she enjoys other hobbies such as games, art projects, and setting up scavenger hunts.  She loves nothing more than working on new moves and playing with her friends.

Jannik & Sara (DE)

Jannik & Sara (DE)

AcroYoga Teachers

Feel the flow – that’s Jannik and Sara from Hamburg. They met 5 years ago and fell in love with creating dynamic AcroYoga flows. In 2018 they started teaching beginners. The constant improvements in their own training and the teacher training at partner acrobatics made them confident to teach topics like whips, icarians, h2hs and other dynamic transitions. In their workshops they want to pass on their knowledge about different concepts, always emphasizing that there are various working techniques and that everyone needs another individual advice.

They want their students to have fun and to get that “acro-high” feeling that they always have after spending hours flying, training, failing and laughing together.

Ales & Tanja (SI)

Ales & Tanja (SI)

AcroYoga / Acrobatic Teachers

Tanja Urankar & Ales Hren are „SAFE acrobatics“.

They are teaching classes, workshops  and retreats worldwide and are the founders of the slovenian acrofestival SAFE.

For both the essential part about Acro is building up trust, doing the most challenging tricks in the most effortless way and having lots of fun. They are highly experienced in laying and standing H2H and F2H, but they also love crazy washing machines, whips, pops and icarian. Teaching together, they focus on adapting to their students levels and help them to increase their acro skills. Giving small but important details on the complex movements and encouraging people to take new challenges by respecting their own body and individual level, is their speciality.

Recently they got their own AcroYoga temple, a beautiful space in the centre of Leiden where they will organise regular classes, jams, and workshops by both themselves and guest teachers as soon as it’s allowed again!

Yanai Levor (IR)

Yanai Levor (IR)

Acrobatic Teachers

I started out many years ago as a yoga student in the Iyengar method. I then learned juggling and other circus skills until I found my passion for acro. For 17 years I’ve been teaching partner acrobatics and it continues to be something that fills me with joy and happiness. My areas of expertise are handstand, hand-to-hand, and family acro. Over the years I have developed many exercises and a unique teaching methods.

I am excited every day to see people succeed doing a pose, and enjoy seeing the learning process as much as the elation of ”getting there”. Especially important to me is the special communication that occurs between people when they practice shared balance.

In 2004-5 I performed with my wife and children on various stages around the world and in street performances in New Zealand. I have also taught workshops in many countries including: New Zealand, Spain, France, the Netherlands, USA, Canada, Russia and more. Today I teach at Kfar Yehoshua Circus school, my private group in Karkur, and an advanced h2h class in Tel Aviv. My teaching is flexible and diverse, and I love working with students at all levels and in all styles. As a practitioner I really like to base and fly, but I’m most happy to take the role of middle when doing trios – where I can be both a flyer and a base at the same time.

Caspian & Laura (ID)

Caspian & Laura (ID)

AcroYoga Teachers

Caspian (UK) & Laura (NL) from Bali (ID).

They are passionate and playful Acroyoga practitioners and teachers. Caspian founded AcroSpirit in Bali to share the AcroSpirit philosophies and teachings, with the aim to help more people discover the beautiful aspects of Acroyoga.

What makes their teaching and the AcroSpirit philosophy unique is that they place a lot of emphasis on the non-physical aspects of the practice. Caspian and Laura believe that to be a truly skilled acroyogi, you must be skilled in communication, safety, trust, empathy, respect, support and much more.

With AcroSpirit in Bali they run jams, classes, events, trainings and later this year: an acro festival!

They love icarians, hand to hands, smooth flows, standing acro, and… each other 😉

Originally from England and with a mixed Singaporean heritage, Caspian quit his job as an Aerospace Engineer and fell in love with yoga and acroyoga on his travels in Asia, before settling down in Bali. He comes from a traditional martial arts background with a black belt in Karate and a wide range of competitive sports. He teaches many styles of movement practices; from mobility, to yoga, to fly high, to thai yoga massage, and of course acro!

Originally an educational teacher from Holland, Laura combines her love for sharing knowledge and skills with her passion for movement. Laura practiced many sports, has an extensive background in martial arts (Judo, Aikido, Boxing and Kickboxing) and has been a yoga, handstand and AcroYoga practitioner for many years. She has travelled to many countries and lived in Jakarta, Nairobi and Paris before making Bali her home. She teaches many styles of yoga, including handstands and acro.

He was inspired by intensive training, classes and workshops and became intrigued by the artistic style of ‘AcroYoga Montreal’.He decided to follow a teacher training with them and now teaches in Antwerp at AYA.

Besides AcroYoga, Sebastian is a professional Thai masseur at Flow Therapeutics and has a great interest in healthy living and everything around it.

“Movement is central and should be nourished by healthy eating habits”. After a few years of sports activities with running and cycling, he later focused more on weight training. Pacôme & Caroline (FR/BE)

Acrobatic teachers

Pacome is a jack of all trade! He explored various dance disciplines and movements, was coached by many mentors spread on different continents during more than a decade. These fantastic and blooming experiences led him to pilates, posturology and functional movement analyses. Always wanting to go further, he followed his passion stepping into the Acro world in combination of his other knowledge and kept sharing his passion and skills investing thousands of hours around the globe.
A couple of years ago he became a recognized

instructor at the national circus center in Lille.

Caroline has been passionate about movement since a young age. Beginning with gymnastics and ballet as a child, moving on to Congolese and Senegalese dance as a teenager, she then discovered the joy and fulfillment of Release and floorwork with contemporary dance.

Since childhood as well, circus acrobats have always been a source of fascination and inspiration for her and she liked to imagine herself as a flyer. This is how, in her twenties, upon discovering acroyoga and acroporter, she got conquered.
The richness of movement, combined with the magic of the encounter with the other, had her experiencing acrobatics as a pleasure,  and even as a therapy and a philosophic teaching. It astonishes her how every trick reminds the mover of the importance of being present at every instant , in connection with the partner, and conscious of the physical laws of this world in which we move. She also thinks that it’s essential to avoid trying to be fully in control and in one’s head.
Each moment is important and it is the fully journey that allows a trick to work or not.
It’s also interesting to observe at what point our habits of movement, just as our thoughts, are anchored and it takes a lot of work to succeed in letting go to allow change to occur

AcroYoga Teachers

You know the feeling when you love something so much you want to share it with the entire world, well that was our biggest motivation to learn not only how to do acro but also teach it and explain it in a way that is comprehensible to everyone while being fun. We wanted everyone who comes to learn from us to leave with a positive mind set and a feeling of victory for that day. Our goal is not only to teach our students but also for them to develop a desire to be better and advance in their knowledge and skill.

As we are both quite active people, way back when we met in 2016, we started exploring the world of standing and L-based acrobatics. With previous experience in rather different sports (basketball, figure skating, ballet and latin dance) it was no easy transition, but that was what made it fun and made us learn all the ways you could fail before succeeding. After developing our practice we started holding workshops and as interest grew we formed NS Acrobalance with regular classes held weekly and a community growing around it. Since then we held workshops in our region (Serbia, Croatia, Greece) and performed in different venues and festivals (Exit Festival, Piano City, Cirko Balkana) and even landed interviews on local TV shows.

Our goal is to develop a sense of freedom, playing with different shapes and connecting them to music while transitioning from L-basing to standing tricks and back. In other words, to have fun 😀

Marijke

AcroYoga came on my path after years of dancing, kickboxing, yoga, meditation, tantra. I instantly fell in love. The teamwork, the playfulness, the gracefulness, strength elements and healing arts: everything I love about movement of body & mind combined.

I’ve been in traineeship with Roald for several years before I started to co-teach and expanded my skills with AcroYoga immersions – in acrobatics and healing arts – Thai Yoga massage and Yin Yoga. In 2021 I’ve completed the teacher training level 1 with AcroYoga Montreal.

Tjebbe
Hey my name is Tjebbe and I’m going to give 2 workshops at the festival.. Woohoo!
I have a background in gymnastics, which you will see in the flows we’ve put together, because flyers and bases both will be tumbling around each other… So much fun!
I’ve been practising acro for 5 years, but this is the first time I am giving a workshop and I’m really excited about it

David Rocker (USA)

David Rocker (USA)

Acrobatic teachers

I discovered acro 7 years ago and immediately fell in love with the community aspect and the different types of movement from anything I had done before. It offers connection and teamwork in a way nothing else I have found does. One of my favorite parts of acro is helping people improve and expand their limits in a safe(!) manner. I believe that everyone is capable of more then they believe and want to help them realize that.

Oriane (IL)

Oriane (IL)

Yoga Teacher

Oriane Attali fell in love with yoga while living on a remote beach in Panama. Up until then, yoga was simply a physical practice to get the heart beating and the sweat flowing. Once discovering a refined inner acceptance and a more peaceful mind through the practice, it was clear yoga was here to stay. She decided to put her degree in Biology aside and continue on to the beautiful lands of Guatemala to become a certified yoga teacher. Ever since then Oriane has been sharing her energy through teaching and encouraging others to challenge their limits both physically and mentally. Focused on alignment-based vinyasa approaches with a combination of dynamic movements, fluid transitions and attention to breath she guides students to strengthen their inner and outer selves. Teaching in various studios, hostels, hotels, workshops, festivals and retreats, Oriane thrives from simply connecting to others and providing a non-judgmental space where each being can feel confident and safe to be as they are.

André is practicing Calisthenics and is pretty new to the acro scene but eager to learn and always in to have some fun and play with different flyers. Whenever you have some cool tricks to be captured on film; search for the guy with long blond hair walking around with his video camera (or he may be laying on the floor in the L-base position).
