Tom the Acrobat (DE)

Tom the Acrobat (DE)

Acrobatic Teacher

About Tom
———————————
Tom is a professional circus artist and teachers who started training Dutch acrobatics, upgraded it with Ukrainian technique, refined his work under tutelage of various experienced coaches and incorporated elements of dance and martial arts in his movement.
Some of his teachers are: Jim and Det, Wybren Wouda (ACAPA; Codarts), Slava Kukuskin (Kiev; Moscow; ESAC), Chris Murawski (German & Polish Sport acrobat with more than 20 national and international titles)

Tom was born as the only German who is not on time, in Bavaria (Germany). After trying almost every sport he got hooked to acrobatics at the age of 18.
During his chemical engineering studies he started performing in various groups, duos, trios all over Europe.
After an “early-life-crisis” in 2014 he decided to quit his studies, (which made his parents really happy) and went as a guest student to the circus school ACAPA in Tilburg where he graduated together with Ayla Moes who is currently one of his acrobatic partners.
Since then, he has been performing in various festivals, theatres, operas, circuses and dance shows amongst others.
The last years he also joined WIRWAR Company, and teamed up with Friedi Kohring with whom he works since march 2020.
His combined lack of discipline, natural ability to avoid hard work, love for comedy series, excessive sun bathing and awesome hair style, have created the performer and teacher he is today.

Amir and Yska (IR)

Amir and Yska (IR)

Acrobatic Teachers

Amir and Yska, both graduated from different circus schools. They acquired most of the abilities and knowledge from practicing independently, mostly by attending workshops or jams and through exploring theirs bodies and learning to flow together.

As long as our connection is getting deeper, we find new ways to explore more moves without words, and we discover methods how to put less effort and get better results.

Acro for us is much more than just a physical practice. It is also a great opportunity to meet new amazing people. From time to time it happens that the people we practice with, become a big part of our lives. On the other side, acro is also a space where we can deal with our fears, insecurities, and self judgement. When we connect with our bodies for a practice it’s almost impossible to hide our feelings, therefore we have no other option but to stay sincere with each other.

Our approach for practice itself is to try to use our bodies’ natural gifts. We believe this what makes the practice more authentic and fluent. Each of us has a one unique body of his, with special features and very different needs. We want to listen to those needs and work with them.

We are inspired by various methods of bodywork and movement such as Acrodance, Ido Portal Method and classic acrobatics. We like to combine it to our practice, to make it more holistic to the body and soul.

Caspian and Laura are passionate and playful Acroyoga practitioners and teachers. Caspian founded AcroSpirit @acrospirit in Bali to share the AcroSpirit philosophies and teachings, with the aim to help more people discover the beautiful aspects of Acroyoga.

What makes their teaching and the AcroSpirit philosophy unique is that they place a lot of emphasis on the non-physical aspects of the practice. Caspian and Laura believe that to be a truly skilled acroyogi, you must be skilled in communication, safety, trust, empathy, respect, support and much more.

With AcroSpirit in Bali they run jams, classes, events, trainings and an acro festival!

They love icarians, hand to hands, smooth flows, standing acro, hands free skills, and… each other 😉

Originally from England and with a mixed Singaporean heritage, Caspian quit his job as an Aerospace Engineer and fell in love with yoga and acroyoga on his travels in Asia, before settling down in Bali. He comes from a traditional martial arts background with a black belt in Karate and a wide range of competitive sports. He teaches many styles of movement practices; from mobility, to yoga, to fly high, to thai yoga massage, and of course acro!

Originally an educational teacher from Holland, Laura combines her love for sharing knowledge and skills with her passion for movement. Laura practiced many sports, has an extensive background in martial arts (Judo, Aikido, Boxing and Kickboxing) and has been a yoga, handstand and AcroYoga practitioner for many years. Moran & Navot (IR)

Moran & Navot (IR)

Acrobatic Teachers

We are a pair of acro teachers who really enjoy teaching, both the little details of hand to hand technique and the silly little tricks. We have a lot of respect and passion for the basics of “proper” standing acro, and also tremendous enthusiasm for all sorts of unrelated tricks that just look nice or funny.
We have been practicing and performing acro for over a decade. For us, the most valuable lesson has been to keep the training relationship above the tricks, and do our best to create a playful, pleasant, and honest atmosphere. We try to be sensitive not only to what our partners need but also to what will leave them smiling and excited to keep training.
